Acupuncture & Naturopathy By Rebecca Side
Trained to treat the individual, not the illness, to treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. Both these disciplines lead to a treatment focused and tailored uniquely to you, with the end goal of long term wellness, embracing a number of Traditional Chinese Therapies that best suits your needs.
Did you know that there are over 2,000 Acupuncture points on the body? The majority of these points follow a path along one of the 14 meridian channels. Meridians are like a network. When injury, illness, diet and emotional stress can disrupt the body and therefore your overall wellbeing, acupuncture utilises these networks, using magic pins to bring your mind and body back to vitality.
Bach Flowers, tissue Salts and essential oils are gentle tools which can help promote the body’s own self-healing mechanism, they provide a natural and gentle enhancement to any treatment to promote emotional balance.
Treating every aspect of a patient (not only with acupuncture) and empowering you to take control of your own health, helping you make lifestyle changes so you can feel your best self will be incorporated within your treatment plan. This could include nutrition, lifestyle advice and recommended supplementation where appropriate.
A perfect treatment if you are not a lover of needles!
Cupping is a gentle therapy where a vacuum is created inside a glass cup using a flame. The cup/s are then placed onto the skin to stimulate blood flow. The cups can be left in position for a number of minutes or be moved around the target area using a sliding motion. In clinic, I use cupping to reduce pain and inflammation and promote movement of blood and Qi in areas of stagnation.
Cupping is not only great for releasing muscle tension it can also be really beneficial for respiratory conditions, headaches, digestion, and lots more.
Cupping does leave reddish/purple circular marks on the body which can last up to seven days. Whilst some people like Gwyneth Paltrow love to show off their cupping marks, you may not, so please bear this in mind.
Simple and effective
The outer ear acts like a switchboard that sends impulses to the brain, which stimulate the release of endorphins, lowers stress and induces relaxation.
The process involves the gentle insertion of up to five fine needles into specific energetic points in the outer ear. The NADA protocol is not a stand alone treatment, if appropriate it will be used to enhance and form part of your holistic treatment plan.
It won't make your hair stand on end - we promise!
Electro-acupuncture is similar to traditional acupuncture however, the needles are attached to a device which generates a gentle electrical pulse to increase stimulation. It is safe and particularly effective when treating muscular conditions or chronic pain.
Say NO to Botox!
The Chinese have been using facial acupuncture for thousands of years and unlike other cosmetic approaches, it can help the face and body feel younger.
Acupuncture can focus on areas and points on the face and help to improve elasticity and signs of ageing, it can also address underlying issues which can be contributing to areas of concern on the face. It is a natural, safe and viable alternative to more invasive procedures without the risks or side effects.

Hi, I am a certified Acupuncturist and Naturopath. I gained my qualifications after five years of study at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
I am a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Cosmetic Acupuncture Association. I have also undertaken additional training in Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture, Acupuncture for Fertility, Advanced pulse diagnosis, and Muscular Skeletal treatment with Acupuncture.
Having experienced my own health issues for over 12 months with no appealing options offered to me by my GP, I decided to give Acupuncture a go. Within three Acupuncture sessions I was experiencing 80% improvement on symptoms and within 12 Acupuncture sessions I was back to being my best self – MY MIND WAS BLOWN! How did these magic pins work, I had to find out MORE! And that is where my learning journey started, an enrollment at The College of Natural Medicine.
Being lucky enough to fall absolutely in love with Acupuncture and being that person who helps people feel their best self, gives me an absolute buzz. I believe that every person is unique and therefore requires a health plan individual to them which is why, I have brought in additional treatments to enhance the effect of acupuncture. But I won't stop there, I am on a continuous learning journey which I am absolutely passionate about and can't wait to pass on my expanding healing practices to my patients.
